Inuyasha must break through a barrier to kill a child so that his sword will become strong enough to break through a barrier. This episode’s title is a spoiler.
Original Air Date: 17 Jun 2002, Streamed on: Hulu
Inuyasha shreds a handful of bat demons with an Iron Reaver Soul Stealer to kick things off before the rest of the squad jumps into action. For some reason, the action stops when Sango’s giant boomerang clangs into Shiori’s barrier.
Inuyasha tells Shiori that if she chooses to go back to the village, he will help her get there. Taigokumaru responds with another sonic attack before they stop fighting again.
Another sword strike fails to penetrate the barrier. In response, Taigokumaru uses a super sonic attack to destroy every building in the village. He then reveals that he’s responsible for the death of Shiori’s father, his own son!
Another sonic attack gives Inuyasha an opening for a Backlash Wave, but Shiori’s barrier holds, closing just before the attack got there. Shiori casts Taigokumaru out of the barrier’s protection, vengeance for her father’s death!
Shiori falls from the sky. Taigokumaru charges another sonic attack to destroy her. Inuyasha jumps in front of it, and without the barrier, this Backlash Wave doesn’t miss. Taigokumaru is destroyed.
Inuyasha decides to leave without letting Tetsusaiga drink Shiori’s blood, so she offers him the blood coral crystal, thinking it might give him what he seeks.
The crystal puts up its own barrier! Taigokumaru’s spirit flies out of the crystal and attacks Shiori, but a barrier protects her! He crashes into it and smashes to pieces but continues to attack. Inuyasha destroys what’s left of him, and the crystal orb splits in two.
Tetsusaiga absorbs the demon energy from the crystal and glows red.

Did you miss it?
I was mesmerized by the bat demons flying without flapping their wings but still make a flapping sound as they pass by.
