Naraku unbelievably absorbs Sesshomaru before Inuyasha can join the fight. Then he orders Kohaku to kill Rin, but Sango and the rest are there to stop him.

Wasting no time, Naraku immediately begins his attempt to absorb Sesshomaru, who does not look even a tiny bit worried. With Sesshomaru completely engulfed in his flesh, Naraku begins to absorb him.
Inuyasha chimes in with a Wind Scar, but Naraku throws up a barrier to block it. Red Tetsusaiga don’t care! The Wind Scar goes right through the barrier.
The battles continues until Naraku attempts to absorb Inuyasha. Seemingly trapped, Inuyasha manages to cut himself free. Naraku then blocks a massive Wind Scar with the mass of flesh that engulfed Sesshomaru. The mass falls apart, and Sesshomaru is no worse for wear.
Naraku rises up again to fight, but the demon brothers lay waste to him. On the verge of absolute defeat, Naraku gives up and runs away but not before threatening Rin’s safety with Kohaku.
Inuyasha rushes back to the others who are in battle with the demon horde outside of Rin’s hut. Kohaku escapes with Rin before they can get past the demons. Fearing that Sesshomaru will kill Kohaku, Inuyasha and Kagome race to get there first.
Naraku commands that Kohaku kill Rin, but he’s not trying very hard. He hesitates, and Sesshomaru appears behind him. He turns to engage, but Inuyasha’s flying punch knocks him down.
Kohaku tries again, but Inuyasha disarms him. Sesshomaru grabs the now unarmed Kohaku by the neck, but he figures that Naraku wants him to kill Kohaku and instead lets him go.
Kohaku retreats to an apparently nearby Kagura, and they fly off on her giant feather.
