Inuyasha (S3E4): Fateful Night in Togenkyo, Part II

The wind scar still slaps

Inuyasha is human and mostly flat, the rest of the gang is tiny, and their jewel shards are in the belly button of a large, evil sage with a rock hard body (callback!).

Original Air Date: 28 Jan 2002, Streamed on: Hulu

Inuyasha survived Tokajin’s belly flop and finds himself trapped again, this time full-sized and tangled up in some demon tree roots that look like vines.

To escape from the box garden village, Shippo’s foxfire dislodges a boulder that Miroku then sucks toward the wall with his wind tunnel, but Kagome just stares at it while it barrels toward her. Miroku tackles her out of harm’s way as the boulder crashes into the wall and makes a hole.

Before they can escape, Tokajin shows up and plucks Kagome from the box garden. He then crushes her to sleep with his hand.

Tiny Kagome is crushed to sleep by Tokajin
This sleep technique fell out of favor after Lennie’s puppy wouldn’t wake up.

A second wind tunnel from tiny Miroku helps Inuyasha break free and bring down the house on Tokajin.

Kagome wakes up naked in a hot tub filled with human-faced fruit tea just before Inuyasha busts in to save her. Outside, the pair meets a talking plant who used to be Tokajin’s mentor. The sage returns and interrupts them.

Kagome draws her bow in the ensuing fight, but it breaks! While Tokajin is distracted, Inuyasha breaks off a huge thorn and stabs him in the eye.

Impressed by Kagome’s sacred aura, the talking plant turns himself into a new bow. Kagome picks it up and fires an arrow that dislodges the jewel shards, but they wind up back in the possession of the demon tree!

The talking plant finishes turning into a new bow
Sadly, the new bow did not talk.

The fight continues over a cliff, prompting the newly empowered tree to “save” them. As the tree prepares to eat them, the sun rises, turning Inuyasha back into a half-demon. Inuyasha immediately destroys the tree with a wind scar attack.

Shippo and Miroku return to normal size, and everyone mourns Inuyasha’s death before he shows up at his own funeral.
